Growing up on a farm just outside of Hamilton, Ontario, Scott found an appreciation of a rural lifestyle and unique perspective on the area's wildlife and nature. In 2013, Scott completed a natural environment technician and conservation management program that revolved heavily around forestry and sustainable siviculture techniques in Sault St Marie, Ontario. Afterwards, Scott shifted gears and spent time in both Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia, where he worked as a carpenter's apprentice. After returning to Ontario in 2015, Scott completed his first blacksmithing workshop. The Living North is an ongoing project that combines Scott's interests and experience in a way that allows him to build sustainable, long lasting decor with his own two hands. The newest chapter of the living north, has brought Scott to the east coast.
